They all have Middle Eastern roots but are United States citizens. Evidently they had purchased 80 cell phones at Wall Mart although there is a 3 phone limit. The clerk got suspicious and called the police. When they looked in the van they saw about 1,000 cell phones in one bucket and in the other the batteries. Also in the van was multiple recipts from other Wall Marts. When the police asked them why they had purchased them, they said they were just selling the cell phones for more money. "The cell phones can be used as detonators. Batteries can be disassembled and used to make methamphetamine. Obviously there's something wrong here," said the Police Chief Ben Page.

I've said this before, and I'll say it again. It seems that terrorism is trying to spread even in the United States by United States citizens. I'm glad they caught them or who knows what might have happened. For all I know they were'nt going to use them here, but some how ship them to the Middle East. Either way, it seems to be a growing problem.

Soldiers Under Attack by New Enemy: Political Correctness

Note: This post also appears on the blog But I Can Hear You.

You're in Iraq. Your squad is finally relaxing, taking a break from being shot at by Islamic extremists, watching Team America. You're drinking some coffee, kinda wired, frustrated at these terrorists who want to kill you and your family. You hear a song in the movie aforementioned and think up some alternate lyrics to it. They're kinda catchy so you write them down. It catches on among your buddies and you've got a band back home so you agree to do a music video. It ends up on the net. Where do you go next?

Certainly not to prison. Yet that's just what some people have in mind. Corporal Joshua Belile of the United States Marines did in fact write a song with alternate lyrics to those in the movie Team America: World Police, and now he is under inquiry as the media and CAIR attempt to link him to the alleged Haditha murders. Now I've read some of the lyrics. Yes, they're rude. Yes, they're inappropriate and distasteful. No, I don't particularly care for them. But an inquiry into murder? Because what you say pokes fun at Muslim terrorists you can now be charged with murder? Let's organize some thoughts here.

1. Corporal Belile, like every other American citizen has the right to free speech. If I wanted to I could decry any race or religion I want. I don't of course because it's wrong. But I could without reprisal because I have the right to. So does Belile. If he chooses to say or sing or write derogatory things about Muslims he has that right. But he wasn't even doing that. He was singing derogatory things about terrorists!

2. Belile was not in fact singing about all Muslims. He was singing about terrorists. I see nothing wrong whatsoever with this. I make fun of terrorists all the time. But at least to us civilians the terrorists are something vague and far away. Corporal Belile has to deal with these wackos constantly. I'd get pretty frustrated too. Plus he was watching Team America. I mean come on guys, any of you ever seen Team America? If CAIR is looking for "insensitivity" I would think that that would be the first thing to sue over. But of course since CAIR knows that the makers have large piles of money they don't. Instead they pick on soldiers who they know they can make accusations against without fear of looking like morons.

3. The guy is twenty-three years old! He's just some kid in Iraq, bored out of his skull. Heck, he's entertaining himself better than most people his age or younger. Yeah twenty-three's old enough to be responsible but come on. How boring do you think it's gotta be to sit there day after day without action? Creative writing, as distasteful as his might be, is at least better than some things he could be doing.

4. Belile is a soldier. He's fighting for CAIR's right to even complain about this song. How would you like to go to war, fight for your country and get shot at by terrorists only to have the country stab you in the back?

Corporal Belile later apologized and offered to retract any video he has control of on the web. He should not have to, nor should he be under inquiry for anything. There is no way you can link a song to murder. It's shameful that the US military would side with CAIR rather than one of their own marines by launching an inquiry over a song. Yes, it was a dumb thing to do, but you can't try a man for murder just because he wrote a distasteful song. It's wrong and unfair, and as long as we keep bowing down to CAIR and other terrorist defenders political correctness is always going to win over those who are fighting for freedom.

Sources: The Daily News, (Jacksonville)

Looking For Nukes in All the Wrong Places?

Note: This post also appears on the blog But I Can Hear You.

Lately the focus of nuclear concern has been concentrated on North Korea. While North Korea is certainly a concern lately have we lost sight of the bigger picture? Yes North Korea is a threat. Yes North Korea is an enemy of the United States. But they're not Muslim extremists. They're still afraid to be nuked back. Unlike Iran. That's right Iran, you know, the country that was on the verge of creating a nuclear weapon a while back. Has America lost focus on Iran?

There's a huge difference between North Korea and Iran. For one thing we know North Korea had nuclear weapons, no surprise there. We are more likely to detect an attack by a country that we know to be dangerous. For another thing North Korea is not run by a Muslim extremist. North Korean culture, like almost all cultures on Earth, is ingrained with the fear of death. Middle Eastern culture does not have this fear. Mahmoud Ahmadinejad would be happy to suffer a nuclear attack for Allah. Iran is much more dangerous for these reasons.

Yet all the focus lately has been on North Korea. This is almost certainly due to the media's enthusiasm to find something new, which is understandable. They have a job to do, and part of that job is to find new things to talk about so people will watch them. But we, the American public, have no such obligation. We must focus on North Korea yes, but we must not lose our focus on Iran. Iran is a bigger threat to the Republic than North Korea, and if we forget this then we could be in some serious trouble.

OUR COUNTRY'S ANNIVERSARY OF OUR INDEPENDENCE FROM BRITAIN

This picture was taken by Mike at Mike's America. Our land, "the land of the free and the home of the brave" has been welcoming immigrants to this country ever since, a practice that has - for the most part - been very beneficial to us. All of our ancestors migrated here from another country, and they did it legally. Many immigrants from foreign countries still immigrate here legally, and we welcome them with open arms. But nowhere is it written in any of our historical documents that we should be welcoming illegal immigrants with open arms; that practice is blatantly unfair to those who come here legally, learn our language, and add to our workforce... again, and I stress it, legally, just as our ancestors did.

Numerous sacrifices are made by legal immigrants in order to come into this country. They may have to wait for weeks, months and even years for approval. Accepting illegal immigrants ahead of legal immigrants simply isn't a fair practice and will hurt this great country... correction: is hurting this great country as I write this. San Francisco is now opening it's arms and throwing out the red carpet for illegal immigrants, and so San Francisco has decided, yet again, to turn it's back on what is right and fair. Once upon a time a long time ago San Francisco was a place I cherished. It has been ruined now and I not only don't cherish it, I despise it for what it has let itself become. I, and many others, are doing whatever we can to ensure that this country does not let itself turn into a larger version of San Francisco.

To all of you conservative bloggers who really care about this country I offer a heartfelt thanks for what you do, and sympathy for the frustration you feel as you watch the hard left doing it's ever-loving best to turn America into a socialist nightmare, in which we will only be one step away from communism, and trust me, we won't remain one step away from communism for very long if the left has it's way!

Most of you reading this already know the following, but I'm going to post it anyway just in case someone who does not know it happens to read this. The following can be found at Dictionary.com:

Socialism:
1. Any of various theories or systems of social organization in which the means of producing and distributing goods is owned collectively or by a centralized government that often plans and controls the economy.

2. The stage in Marxist-Leninist theory intermediate between capitalism and communism, in which collective ownership of the economy under the dictatorship of the proletariat has not yet been successfully achieved. (emphasis is mine.)

*************************

So as we celebrate this anniversary of our independence, please let us be thankful that so far we are still a democracy (democracy having nothing in common with the Democratic party) and not living under socialism! As hard as the left has been working toward their goal, they have failed. This year we can celebrate the fact that this is so, and I pray that it will remain so forever.

REMEMBERING

(Note: This post is also posted at www.myrepublicanblog.blogspot.com)

The following poem was written by a third grader from Academy Elemetary School in Madison, Connecticut. Nichola Goddard, but to all of those who have fallen defending our freedom, regardless of their nationality.

Thank you."

Justthinkin' also posted about this hero. It is no longer the day that the above was posted, but I believe she should be remembered too, as we celebrate Memorial Day. The United States and Canada are in this war on Terror together. Let's not forget that. I write this memorial post not only for the men and women who sacrificed so much in past wars, but also in order to celebrate all the "infidels" who fight terrorism on any front. May God bless you all.

************************

America the Ignorant

Note: This post also appears on the blog But I Can Hear You.

Recently I've been noticing some things at my school which seriously disturb me. You see, school is almost over and so the teachers are piling record amounts of work on us. (Not that I'm complaining, I'm just stating the fact that workload at school has increased sharply.) One of these end of the year papers involved a writing assignment in which we were to answer a simple question. Basically it went something like, "do people imitate others?" A few days ago we got the results back. My teacher talked for a while about the results and showed us some photocopies of essays that had received a very high score. The first essay contained the following mistakes.

-referred to Alexander Graham Bell as "Alexander Grand Bell"

-stated that Thomas Edison invented the telephone

-stated that the Mona Lisa was a painting of a man's face on one side and a woman's on the other.

-capitalized words such as inspiration and individual but not Christ or God.

What worries me is not that the student made these mistakes, but that the teachers decided to score his essay highly. My friend and I asked my teacher about it and he explained that the student rated highly because he used examples to support his argument."But the examples are wrong!" argued my friend. The teacher's response? Hey, at least they were there. Dear God, what kind of school am I in that ignorance is rewarded? Basically the school is saying is that as long as you use examples, who cares if you don't know what you're talking about? I call this phenomenon 'bullshot.' Shoot as much bull as you can out there and some of it will find its mark. Apparently it works. The second essay scared me even more. The examples of individuality, or lack thereof, the student gave were from the following sources.

-Disney/Pixar children's movie "The Incredibles"

-Adam Sandler movie "Big Daddy"

-NASCAR Drivers

This apparently ranked highly as well. While the teacher is praising this ridiculousness I'm wondering when Adam Sandler became a philosopher. When did "the Incredibles" replace Dante, Machiavelli, Sun Tzu and Rand as sources for English essays? I think I know when. It was when teachers started worrying about hurting the students' feelings rather than doing their job. It was when schools turned into processing plants, passing students because they wanted to get them to the next grade rather than educate them. The people who wrote these essays are the voters of tomorrow, and they get all their information off of Disney and Adam Sandler. That scares me. I think that if schools are serious about educating us they should start by not tolerating such things. Essays need to be graded by quality, not quanity. Putting examples to support your argument is useless if you don't know what you're talking about. Put simply, "the Incredibles" as a source is simply that, not credible, and such ridiculousness cannot be rewarded if we are serious about educating America

Shameless Plug

I've begun laying out my case against Iran on America Under Attack. As white birth rates continue to decline, birth rates of latinos and other hyphenated Americans continue to hold steady or even increase. Around the world, we are witnessing similar trends. Non-whites continue to procreate rather prolifically while whites are discovering other things to do with their time. To say that within the next decade or so, whites will be a minority throughout much of the world is a matter of simple mathematics. The evidence is as plain as the nose on our face. Some people are troubled by this news, I am not.

The values this country was founded on are not specific to any one race, nor are they so complex or intricate that an understanding of them is limited to those of a fairer complexion. I believe that anyone can easily grasp the principles of our founders if they are taught them properly. Freedom, personal responsibility and industriousness are not a matter of eugenics. Limited government and free market capitalism are not encoded in our DNA - if they were, we wouldn't have so many liberals running around.

The future of our country rests not upon the fate of any particular race but on the fate of the ideas and concepts that allowed us to achieve never before seen levels of wealth and prosperity. For this reason, it is absolutely vital that we teach our children well, that we inoculate them against the lies and twisted half-truths of the Left. If we allow our country to continue down the slippery slope of Socialism, all will be lost. We must give our children the tools to resist the siren song of egalitarianism. We must teach them that accomplishments are more valuable than entitlements. When people begin to believe that success is theirs by birthright and has little to do with hard work, perseverance or ingenuity then we have lost.

I think this is what troubles people the most about the "immigrants rights" rallies that were held recently. The sense of entitlement that was demonstrated by the mobs of people, most of which had no legal right to be in this country - let alone make demands of it - angers those of us who were either born here or came here legally. Why should they be entitled to anything? Is it the fault of the United States that Mexico cannot prosper under a heavily Socialist system? Is it the fault of America that corruption and burdensome entitlement programs rob their economy of billions of dollars? Money that would normally flow back into the system and fuel growth, create new jobs and opportunity instead finds its way into the back pockets of their politicians and drug cartels. Should we suffer because the Mexican people have so far proved unwilling to clean up the mess they created? Egalitarians would argue that we should.

"Because we have so much, we should allow them to come to our country and share in the wealth", they say. So be it, but let them come on our terms and let them become Americans, not Mexicans living in America. Let them conform to our traditions, values and social norms. Let them learn about our history and adopt it as their own. Let them learn our language, obey our laws and defend our constitution. Rather than trying to bend us to their will and shape our country in the image of that they left behind, let them embrace our country and leave the failed policies of their homeland at the border.

These things can come to pass if we, as a country, join together and take a stand in support of our history and our heritage. We must shout down those who slander our country and teach our children the true meaning of what it means to be an American. As we teach our children the importance and value of the American experiment, we will also teach those who come to our country. By embracing our system of government and our way of life, these immigrants will be able to realize the American dream and the words penned by Emma Lazarus in 1883 will gain new meaning:

Not like the brazen giant of Greek fame
With conquering limbs astride from land to land;
Here at our sea-washed, sunset gates shall stand
A mighty woman with a torch, whose flame
Is the imprisoned lightning, and her name
Mother of Exiles. From her beacon-hand
Glows world-wide welcome; her mild eyes command
The air-bridged harbor that twin cities frame,

"Keep, ancient lands, your storied pomp!" cries she
With silent lips. "Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore,
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed to me,
I lift my lamp beside the golden door!"

Let them come, but let them be Americans.

We've Lost Our Magnet

I read the previous post with a great deal of interest because it dovetails with discussions that I've been having with a good friend of mine at work. His name is Jerome and he is the only black employee in our office. Jerome is NOT your stereotypical black man. He enjoys good port, a fine cigar and interior decorating. Jerome does not listen to rap music, he listens to Glenn Miller, Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holliday and Charlie Parker. He likes classical music. He is very eloquent and softspoken, a far cry from the images we get from MTV and BET.

A woman that we work with (who shall remain nameless) has three children. Two of those children are half black (she is white). Her estranged husband is black (and the father of one of her children). She has made no bones about the fact that she is only attracted to black men. At first, this made Jerome the obvious object of her desires. After they became more "acquainted", she got over him because he is nothing like the stereotypical black man. In fact, she often challenges his "blackness" because he doesn't fit the stereotypes. She isn't the only one either, other blacks have accused him of being a sellout or more white than black.

He and I have often discussed the problems facing blacks today and we agree that these stereotypes, perpetrated by the media and blacks themselves, are a large part of the problem. His wife (who is white) has no problems with pop culture's perception of blacks and their portrayals in movies, television and of course, rap music. Jerome, on the other hand, is disgusted by them. He views them as one of the single greatest problems facing blacks today. He is proof that blacks can become educated, eloquent and pull themselves out of the ghetto mentality that they are born into.

Jerome is right that the portrayal of black people in the media is a problem but it is not the greatest problem facing blacks today. In my opinion, the single greatest problem facing blacks, as well as everyone else today, is that we've lost our magnet. Don't I mean compass? No, I mean magnet. What keeps the compass pointing in the right direction? A magnet... a very big magnet. The magnetic polarity of the earth keeps the needles of the compass pointing in the right direction. If these poles were to be reversed, or worse - eliminated altogether, the compass would be rendered useless. In my opinion, our compasses have been rendered useless - we've lost our magnet.

In some ways, perhaps it was inevitable. As it has been pointed out lately, we are a nation of immigrants. Some of those immigrants share our Judeo-Christian heritage but many do not. The same applies to native-born citizens of this country. We've had more than our fair share of atheists and those opposed to the idea of the United States being a "Christian nation". Contrary to popular belief, they haven't all popped up in the last fifty years or even the last hundred years. What has happened is that they've become far more organized and goal-oriented than than the Christians. This should be expected, most Christians have never realized that their beliefs are under attack, that the traditions and the heritage that was passed down to them from their fathers and their father's fathers was being subverted.

Thomas Jefferson wasn't exactly an athiest (as many people like to call him), he was more of an agnostic. He acknowledged that there may indeed be a deity but he didn't seem to allow that idea to drive his thoughts and values. He was more of a humanist, a man of science and logical thinking that was more concerned with this world than the next. That said, he wasn't opposed to the religion of his peers and never sought to restrict their ability to practice their religion or to openly discuss or portray their faith. Even in his day, there were concerns about state-sponsored religion or more accurately, state approved religion. The concern was whether or not a deeply religious man could put the interests of the nation over the interests of the church. To be specific, they were concerned about a Catholic president's allegiance to the country versus his allegiance to the pope. Thomas Jefferson addressed this issue in a letter to a group of Baptists in which he stated that this would never be an issue because there existed a "separation of church and state". He was referring to the anti-establishment clause in the first amendment that prevented the government from sponsoring an official religion.

This letter was to become the standard under which thousands of anti-christians would march almost two hundred years later. I have no doubt that if Jefferson could have forseen the effects of this letter, he would have burned it. Then again, maybe not. He could never have anticipated that so many would remain so silent while their country was being torn out from under them. In his time, people weren't nearly as apathetic as they are now. He also would likely decide that if we weren't willing to fight for our so-called beliefs, well... we deserve what we get.

Who are these people that are marching under the banner of "separation of church and state"? Marxists. It's that simple. Look at every communist nation on earth and you'll notice that they all have one thing in common... religion is either severely restricted or abolished altogether. Religion stands in direct competition with communism, they can ill-afford to allow the people to worship a god of their choosing because they need the people to worship the state as god. In the Soviet Union, schoolchildren were taught to pray to God for a candy bar. They were told that if he were really so powerful, he should be able to give them something as small as that. They did as they were told, they put their heads down and prayed to God for a candy bar. When they raised their heads, no candy bar. Then, they were told to lower their heads and pray to Stalin for a candy bar. When they raised their heads... voila! A candy bar. I think this story illustrates beautifully how those in communist nations are brainwashed.

We are feeling the effects in almost every aspect of our lives. The disintegration of the family, our faltering education system, soaring national debt, rampant crimes against small children and violence in our schools. With the state as our new religion, we no longer have a need for such quaint ideas as "family". We don't need to depend on each other when our Uncle Sam will provide for us. This makes divorce so much easier. It also means that there are fewer consequences to children born out of wedlock, dropping out of school and failing to get or keep a job. Our families are our compass, our faith is the magnet that kept them pointed in the right direction. Without the magnet, the compass is ornamental, no more useful for helping us find our way than a necklace or an earring. The values and convictions of our fathers are meaningless to us because we lack the key to understanding them. Since we do not understand them, we label them "outdated" or "archaic". We tell ourselves that we have become superior to them, that we no longer need their values because we have developed our own. The problem is, our new values lack direction. They cannot bring us together as families, let alone as a nation. We are all taught to go our own way, as a result, we have 300 million people going in separate directions.

The media is not the problem, nor is academia, the education system or any of the other usual suspects. We are the problem. We are also the solution. The magnet is still there, we just have to seek it out to find it.

The Plague

There is a plague upon our nation. A cultural plague. Its name? Gangsterism. Why is this thing so terrible? Well, for a number of reasons. Rap is not music. You might be saying to yourself right now, "well, of course its music! everyone says so!" but this is not true. Music needs to go under two certain criteria. one, is it needs to have a beat, something rap has. But the next thing, which is the most important criteria, is that it needs MUSICAL notes, which is music. Rap is missing this. Therefore it is an artform, and a very simple one at that. Therefore rap is distracting us from true musicianship, and is encouraging an artform that takes little talent to do.

And as if destroying the very name of music wasnt enough, there is more. The lyrical content. It is complete garbage. It tells you to F*** that B**** and toss her dead a** out the window. Now isnt that just heart warming? I mean, who needs "god bless america"? And that is only the least of the terrible words that they say so fast, we dont notice it at first. But as we listen to it constantly, the subliminal messaging gets ingrained into our kid's heads. The conclusion of this point? Rap is mind control for the innocent children of america.

And maybe that is the reason why the public is welcoming this poison that is seeping through this countrie's veins so warmly. The grammy for "most original song" went to some rap song called "its tough being a pimp" or something like that. Something that isnt even music goes to something that for one is completely unoriginal. When will this end? Our countrie's fads come and go, favorable or unfavorable, but this is just going to far. Its been spreading too fast for too long. Disney just took a Mary Poppins Classic "supercalafragalisticecspialagoshist" and turned it into a rap, and promoted it all over.

We have to do something. People need to speak out against this. we need a plan, to return american to some depth and valorous philosophies. I do have one, here is my myspace profile, in the about me section I poured my heart and sould into. It is the eventual mindset of every human being in the course of life. That statement seems racist, or at least arrogant and elitist. Is it really though? After all we have an entire month devoted to black history. The topic of my post today is this: America is a country comprised of different ethnic groups, and it is not racist to think that this is a good thing.
Yet we have many people who do. These people are the same people who would think that the first statement I made was racist. But again I pose the question, is it really racist? We have a whole month devoted to black history. Are all black people racist? Of course not. In fact we have a holiday completely devoted to black history (Kwanzaa) that, while a bit silly having no precedent or historical/religious reason to be celebrated, does not make black people racist. So why does the first statement seem so racist? Because of people that like to feel guilty for being white, and those who believe that I am racist for saying things like that. I'll be frank, I'm sick of being called racist by people who have no other argument. People who use that argument generally don't look beneath the surface. Am I racist because I said I'm proud of my European background? Why am I racist for that? Why can other ethnic groups say that they're proud of their background and everyone thinks it's a great thing? Well it is great. But it needs to work both ways. If some people can be honored for saying it, so can the others. That's what makes America great. We are a nation of several different ethnic groups. Blacks, Asians, Hispanics and yes, Whites. America needs to stop focusing on the differences of these races however, calling themselves African-Americans or Asian-Americans or Hispanic-Americans, and just call themselves Americans. We seem to forget that we're not a bunch of ethnic groups, we're a country. A united country. And while the statement I made at the beginning is true, I am proud of my European background, I am more proud to be American.

Terrorist in a Can Update!

Terrorist in a Can! as seen on Blog America earlier is now on the market. (hint hint.) Anyway, please notice that this is posted on My Blog as well as here.

It appears Saddam is just creating a bad opportunity at being found innocent. Here is how the day at court happened. First Saddam started out yelling at Chief Judge Raouf Abdel-Rahman about how he was elected president. To this Raouf Abdel-Rahman replied saying "You used to be a head of state. You are a defendant now" When Raouf Abdel-Rahman tried to charge him of killing 148 Shiites Saddam ignored the question and read a prepared speech about how he was "pained" by the violence created by the Sunni-Shiites. He stated that they shouldn't fight against themselves but against the American military. At another point at the trail Saddam's half-brother was accused of signing papers authorizing the arrest of some of those Shiites but he claimed that they were all forged. He also at one point said that he killed the 148 Shiites because they tried to assassinate him at one point.

Well, I guess it really doesn't surprise me. How else is he going to come up with a good story about why he killed those 148 Shiites. He has to stall. As for Saddam's half-brother, his excuse wasn't that great either.

Terrorist in a Can!

After Cody's Allah Mento's post I have decided to subit... We the people have control of our government, we're allowed guns, we have freedom of speech. Why would anyone hate a country as great as this? There are many answers to this. Fear, hate, envy, etc. But I'm not talking about the terrorists. I'm talking about people within our own culture! For as there are those that love America, there are those that hate it as well. I was planning to post on this anyway, but when Harry Belafonte came up in the news it was the perfect kind of post to write.

For those of you who don't know, Harry Belafonte, a Jamaican immigrant who has made a fortune in the U.S. selling albums (which is odd because his songs are awful) recently went to Venezuela to meet with none other then Hugo Chávez. Chávez long suspected of human rights abuses and voter fraud, is not exactly a friend of the United States. Yet Belefonte is over there saying such idiotic things as "no matter what the greatest tyrant in the world, the greatest terrorist in the world, George W. Bush says, we're here to tell you: Not hundreds, not thousands, but millions of the American people ... support your revolution." Really? I'd like to know exactly which million he's talking about, because frankly I don't see many people on the street talking about Venezuelala or its political problems. Sadly Chávez believes this cuckoo left-wing singer over our government.

I'm not sure what would make people say this kind of garbage, but whatever it is, it is absolutely insane.

Links: talk.livedaily.com, Wikipedia, The Daily Show (It's a news source, really!)

WHAT OUR MILITARY HAS DONE FOR US

Has also been posted on: <a href=http://www.myrepublicanblog.blogspot.com">My Republican Blog

I'm writing this as a tribute to our military personnel, those serving now, and those who have served, both living and dead. Our soldiers, no longer only men but both men and women, put their lives on the line for us 24 hours a day seven days a week and many in this country show very little gratitude for such an overwhelming sacrifice. I will tell you why I'm personally grateful.

World War II began on September 1, 1939 - exactly two years and one month before my birthday. On December 7th, 1941 the slaughter of Pearl Harbor took place. I was two months and six days old. America became involved in world war two as a direct result of Pearl Harbor. 291,557 of our military personnel were killed in that war. That's: TWO HUNDRED-NINETY-ONE THOUSAND, FIVE HUNDRED AND FIFTY-FIVE deaths, all in order to keep America safe. 671,846 of our military were wounded. If not for those willing to fight and sacrifice their lives for this country we would be speaking German now. We would not be a free people. We would be just another poor country run by a selfish dictator.

The "Cold War" hung over my head since the late 40's. I grew up with routine survival drills in school, as did my first three children, because of the very real possibility of a nuclear bomb falling on us at any time. Drills for survival were routine occurrences all through my school-life and my children's school life and beyond. We were trained to sit under our desks with our heads down and our arms over our heads. Little good that would have done! I believe it was done to simply give us kids a sense of security. This threat remained until November 9th, 1989 when the border seperating Western and Eastern Germany was opened. It was a Thursday when the Berlin Wall fell. I was 48 years old.

Going back a ways, there was the Korean War - That began on June 25th, 1950 and lasted until July 17th of 1953. 54,000 deaths, 103,000 wounded.

The Cuban Crisis - October 18 to October 29, 1962: President John F. Kennedy told the world on October 22, 1962 that the Soviet Union was building a secret missile base in Cuba, which is only 90 miles off the Coast of Florida. Again, I had a personal interest in this one because my husband was stationed in the Florida Everglades with a Hawk Anti-Aircraft Missile unit, with Missile's trained toward Cuba. Another Hawk Missile unit was located south of Cape Canaveral. This could have been a Nuclear Holocaust if Kruschev had not backed off ...and many of us would not be here today.

Vietnam...(1964-1975) We who lived through it will never forget it. I'm not going to rehash the politics of the loony left here because we all know it. 47,410 of our troops died in that effort, 153,303 were wounded. All those deaths disrespected because we withdrew and left South Vietnam and Cambodia hanging. Enough said, other than my husband spent 1969 there and I and the children (like military families now) waited the year out not knowing whether he would come home or not.

The Gulf War (1990-1991). 147 deaths in that one, 467 wounded.

Now it's Terrorism. September 11, 2001: 2,749 civilians were killed. That's civilians, just going about their normal routine of living. Men, women and children who had every right to expect they would have a great day when they woke up that morning. They had their plans. Some of them were married, some were lonely, some were in love. Each and every one of them were innocent of anything other than being American, but for Terrorists being an American is enough. So 10 incredibly stupid and unconcionable murderers did their horrendous deed. Another attack has not happened in the meantime and it is because of our military personnel and our President. Iraq has been saved from a cruel and murderous dictating thug and is on the road to a freedom and democracy, and that is because of our military personnel and President Bush. Each and every American Citizen ought to be thankful for our President and for our troops because otherwise this country would have suffered who knows how many deaths in the years since 9/11/2001. Some people would once again leave a country to the mercy of their enemy, an enemy who doesn't know the meaning of mercy. Some people would dishonor our wounded and dead military by invalidating everything they are working toward accomplishing. Those who would do so should ask themselves what they will do when Terrorists begin killing off their loved ones? Where is the empathy of the left for the dead victims of 9/11 and their survivors? When did these people throw their common-sense out the window; indeed, did they ever have any? One has to wonder.

My gratitude and the gratitude of those who appreciate the sacrifices of the many people who have died in every war since the establishment of this great country, goes out to our troops serving so valiently now. Thank you, each and every one of you, for what you are doing and what you have accomplished thus far. May God keep you safe and warm and may you all understand that you are loved and appreciated.

Unlike many people I know, history didn't begin with my birth. Without the following sacrifices the United States may not even be the "United States". Our ancestors could have easily been killed, making our births null and void. Our gratitude needs to extend beyond the time of our own life-span:

World WarI (Also known as "The Great War" [1914 - 1918]) 117,000 deaths, 204,000 wounded.

Spanish American War (1898 - 1902) 385 deaths, 1,662 wounded.

Indian Wars (1866 - 1890) 1,000 deaths (approximate) No record of wounded. This does not include civilian deaths.

Civil War (1861 - 1865) 558,079 deaths, 412,175 wounded.

Mexican War (1846 - 1848) 1,733 deaths, 4,152 wounded.

War of 1812 (1812 - 1815) 2,260 deaths, 4,505 wounded.

The Revolutionary War (April 19, 1775 - October 20, 1781) 4,435 deaths, 6,188 wounded.

And that brings us to the beginning of the great and wonderful "United States of America" where all are free and countless numbers of people have come to live because it's the greatest nation on earth, thanks to every single person listed in both of the above categories, and thanks to those who were not harmed but fought, or were willing to fight and were not called upon to do so. May God bless you all!

Merry Christmas Everyone!

Sorry I haven't been posting or commenting, my internet access is extremely limited at the moment. I shall return to my prolific pace as soon as the situation is rectified.

I hope this post finds everyone well. I've read a few of the posts on here when I am able to log on and I must say that I'm impressed with much of what I've seen. We have a couple of young bloggers that show an incredible amount of talent and insight for such youngsters and they should be applauded and encouraged. Gayle, senior member of this blog, shows that the internet is not restricted to those who are new to puberty. We've got quite a few readers, many of them are rather young themselves. A diverse group with a diverse readership. That's a good thing.

I'm going to leave politics out of this post because I want to focus on what's important... family. I'm at my mother-in-law's house (although she isn't here at the moment) with my wife and stepdaughter and we're watching Chicago at Green Bay. Yesterday, we were here with my mother-in-law, brother-in-law and his girlfriend and my two nephews. The wrapping paper was flying and the only thing in greater supply than used bows and packaging is the laughter. Times like that make you realize just how great it is to be an American.

I believe that our founders were divinely inspired and divine providence has led this country and kept it safe thus far. I hope it continues to do so. I hope that generations of Americans can continue to have days like I had yesterday; days without fear of stormtroopers busting up the party and hauling your family members off to some godforsaken gulag somewhere. Days where you are free to ponder the real meaning of Christmas and the joy of knowing the love and salvation of Jesus. Days where you can watch your children unwrap their presents and play with them while you ponder their future and wonder where the days have gone.

May we all experience the joys of Christmas this year and for many years to come. Oh, and many happy New Years to all!

Merry Christmas to all in Iraq

Note that this post appeared in Politics

Well, tomorow is Christmas. Obviously the sacrifice of lives in order to remain free is the greatest price of all, but there are other prices to pay. Here are ten of them:

1. We are free to disparage our President in times of war without getting shot.

2. We can tear, rip, burn, wear, or sit on and otherwise defile our flag without fear of going to jail.

3. Our media can make up stories and challenge us to prove they are false.

4. A major political party can make up stories and challenge us to prove they are false.

5. We can petition the Courts to remove "In God We Trust" from our legal tender.

6. We can petition the Courts to remove prayer from our schools.

7. We can give abortions to 13 year-old girl-children without their parents ever finding out they are pregnant.

8. We can go on national Television (like Murtha) and say things we know are false regarding the war effort and lie about the condition and morale of our troops.

9. We can use profanity all over the internet except on Blogs that don't allow it.

10. Last but not least, we are free to raise our children without any morality whatsoever.

Freedom is what America is all about and it is worth fighting and dying for. It's just a crying shame that so many Americans take such blatant advantage of it.

It's the New Flavor!

Gayle was making things with photoshop so I wanted to do something too. The terrorists think it's pretty cool too. Me neither.

As cool as this program is, it is not something that we should put in the hands of the public, there is just too much risk. He said in quote,
"they suck,"
And went on about their greed and corruption making it seem like he wanted to blame his boy loving problem on them.

I don't think anyone is surprised that he is moving to an arab country, they're the best places to hate jews and get away with it.

What can I say. They'll like the guy while he puts down jews but once he starts molesting little boys they'll string him by his feet and beat him to a bloody pulp.

Thanks to the "I'll side with anybody if I get money" lawyers this pervert got free, but that won't happen in an Arab country, no siree. He won't even get a trial, people on the streets will gather around with rocks and stone him.

And if being a pedophile wasn't bad enough he's now a Jew hater. Like I said, hating Jews won't get you a free pass for pedophile in an Arab country. He's as good as dead over there.

So I think I speak for about 99% of America when I say, good riddance you perverted moron! I never liked your crappy music. The songs were all good until the part where you start singing. America doesn't have a place for people like you, get out. Have fun getting tortured for your perversion as in those countries there is no tolerance for it. America shouldn't be so open to perversion either, but that's a different topic.

Over in Arab land you'll dissapoint little Timmy when you have to tell him they castrated you. But don't expect us to help you up, you're on your own now Jacko.

Good riddance!

The Scientific Reason why No one is Posting

I wrote this comment on Warzone!

It seems like whenever we make a blog with a bunch of contributors it dies quickly. Blog America has done the same.

I can explain why from a psychological point of view. It's in the nature for humans to not do something when they think someone else will do it.

Say someone is getting mugged. It's a full street. No one does anything because they are confident someone else will. Editorials.

As everybody should know, today is Veteran's Day, where we honor the courageous men and women of the armed services, unless you're a liberal in Waterville, Maine, in which case Veterans Day is a time to dishonor the memories of the dead and use it to your political gain. An anti-war group called Waterville Areas Bridges for Peace and Justice (who obviously don't live up to the justice part since anti-war meant keeping Saddam in power) planted 2,000 white flags in the ground at a cemetery filled with war dead. While white is the color of peace, a white flag also means surrender. Outraged, and rightfully so, 10 members of the VFW began to remove flags, refusing to have flags of surrender displayed on Veteran's Day. Now comes the really sick part. Five of them were arrested for "trespassing." Wayne Elkins, commander of the VFW said, "They desecrated our veterans' grounds. If they want to protest, let them protest. We don't mind. But to desecrate hallowed ground is wrong." He is absolutely right. To go into a soldiers' resting place to plant flags of surrender (they were meant to be peace but it really equates to the same thing) is about the most disgusting thing I have ever heard of a war protester do, and I've heard some pretty sick things.

I don't know which sickens me more, the arrogance, or the speaking for of the dead. Those anti-war protesters had some nerve sticking a flag for a soldier who might have been happy to lay down his life for his country. Especially the white flag of surrender. Maybe you liberals who want to bring the troops home would surrender to terrorist cowards, but as for me I will always support freedom and justice.

This is how we celebrate Vetren's Day now? By speaking for those that can no longer speak, all so that THEY, the anti-war idiots, can? Those 2,000 soldiers didn't die for this. Neither did the veterans we're supposed to be honoring. Next time they may want to actually HONOR a veteran, not make a mockery of what he stood for.

Links: Seattle Post Intellegencer

In Honor of All Military Personnel and Their Families on Veteran's Day

This post has also been posted at www.letourvoicesbeheard.blogspot.com)

This is a picture of our Flag which flies all year round, but of course we changed it out in honor of Veteran's Day. Texas winds begin to tear up flags pretty fast here.

I'm dedicating this post to all the good men and women who have fought for our country over the years, and especially to honor my husband for his service in Vietnam. I also dedicate this post to all the families of the men and women who serve this great nation in times of war.

Not only is it not easy to leave your loved ones and go overseas to fight and possibly come home mangled, but risk not coming home at all; it is just as hard in it's own way for the people left behind to wait, wonder and worry.

My own experience with this not happy event took place in 1970. Driving my husband to catch a bus to Presidio of San Francisco was pure hell and that's an understatement. Not bawling or begging him not to go (like he would have had a choice) was one of the hardest things I have ever had to do... well, almost. I was left with three children who wouldn't see their dad for quite some time and for the first time the MSM were televising a war live so you didn't know if you were going to watch your loved one die in front of your very eyes on national TV or not. It got to where I couldn't watch the news. Each time his letters were late I couldn't eat or sleep. Any time I saw a military car pass through my neighborhood I wondered if it was coming to see me with the dreaded news. That awful year dragged on forever.

Military families didn't enjoy the support they have now. And even with the support that they do enjoy, it doesn't diminish the anguish they go through worrying and waiting, hoping and praying that husband or wife, mommy or daddy, sister or brother or friend will come home alive and in one piece. So I think Veteran's Day should also be a day to remember and be thankful to the loved ones of the servicemen who sacrifice so very much of themselves in order for this country to remain free and the greatest nation in the entire history of the world.

So to all service men and women everywhere, not only overseas but here at home too because they could be called into action at any time, to all our veterans and to every loved one who has had to worry and wait, and especially to those whose loved one will never come home, I thank you. It's not sufficient for the sacrifice you have made or are making and it never will be. But it is all I know how to do.

And to God I say thank you for bringing my husband safely home. I know that I am one of the lucky ones!

Another Reason to Not Like the UN

This just outrages me! As we all know there is a problem with this Bird Flu. Now listen to what Roger Morris, a New Zealand UN consultant said. He said that America and Europe are to blame for the deaths of these people because we didn't do enough to help. Now, before I get too mad I will touch up on a couple things.

1. It is not really our first priority to help other countries with this kind of thing. True it would be nice to help these countries but the UN must have forgotten the fact that we were just hit by 3 powerful hurricanes in the same area and are still cleaning up that mess. Now I know what some people are going to say: Well, it could come here. True but Bush has just put in a bunch of money to help prevent that( Though personally I think he put in too much money.). We are helping plus a bunch of other countries to stop this.
2. Isn't it more of the UN's job to help prevent this kind of thing. After all they are the United Nations. So instead of pointing fingers at America and Europe, why don't they help devise a plan to stop this disease. I just thought that was common sense.

IN YOUR FACE!

This is my flag waving in your face
Yes, “you who would defile it”
It will continue to wave in your face
No matter how you revile it!

You can trash it and burn it,
Step on it, spit on it,
Do whatever you stupidly do
But there it is “in your face!”
The glorious Red, White and Blue!

This is my Bible I’m proud to say
You Godless atheists don’t have a clue
I will fight forever for my right to pray
And wait for the Devil to give you your due!

I will pray where I want and when I want
My faith in God will forever be whole
I have my faith, my God and my church
While you're stuck with your barren soul

With my Bible and my flag I challenge you
To make one difference in my heart
You can burn the bible and rip up the flag
But you can never tear my beliefs apart!

So go ahead and keep on keeping on
Beating your heads against a stone wall
You can only say the vile things you say because:
This country stands for “liberty and justice for all!”

Written by Gayle 6/05/02

Voting time

It's now time to start voting for the blogger of the month, this is how it works.

Just leave a comment with the name of the blogger you think has done the best on Blog America this month. I love the different types of climates and terrains it has to offer. You can live in almost any of the climates this planet has to offer. We have frozen tundras and we have subtropical zones. We have deserts and we have swamps. There are the plains of the Midwest and the hills and mountains of the Appalachians and the Rockies. We have great rivers, beautiful lakes and tons of oceanfront property - more than you can shake a stick at!

Just as great is the diversity of opinions that can be found. Everything from Marxist/Stalinists on the left to anarchists on the right can be found with the click of a button or by picking up a newspaper or turning on the television. Even more amazing is the fact that all of these viewpoints are tolerated by the government. In many countries around the world, such debate or open displays of dissenting opinions can result in jail time or execution. There is no First Amendment to shield citizens from the wrath of their government and the media is merely an extension of the government. Anyone caught expressing an opinion that does not coincide with the official position of the government is summarily executed or never seen again.

While Cindy BanSheehan ties herself to the White House fence, let's appreciate the fact that she's free to go any time she wants.

My first post of awesomeness

Hey! This is my first post on Blog America! Anyway, a little on me (who else matters?):
I'm a Catholic Christian teen who's views lean towards the right. I guess that's all you really need to know about me at this moment.
Anyway, my other blog is this little piece of awesomeness.

Anyway, I thought I would post some (hopefully) thought provoking opinions of mine:

"I'm against abortion except in cases of rape and incest -" So are you saying that if a baby isn't a result of normal sex, it doesn't actually exist? That's absurd.

"I'm totally pro-life -" The word "pro-life" is viciously grating on my nerves. I'm pro-birth and anti-suicide, but I honestly think "pro-life" is too broad a term. For instance, I'm totally against abortion and assisted suicide, but I love playing action-packed violent video games and I support the death of terrorists. So if I was 100% pro-life, I wouldn't be playing Half-Life 2 or Ghost Recon or supporting the demise of terrorists. That's the equivalent of a person who's 100% against killing animals playing a game in which you blast away cows. Just a little food for thought.

My stance on the "Support our troops" attitude - Nothing pisses me off more than people who claim to support the troops but do not want them brought back. Hello, in case you haven't noticed, MORE TROOPS ARE DYING EVERY DAY!! They're just sitting in Iraq rotting away while Bush isn't doing anything! The President seriously needs to take action and do something ultra productive soon, or remove the troops all together. In the mean time, claiming that you support the troops while they sit there dying isn't being patriotic or helpful. Instead, find a way to support the cause of getting them back.

Late Notice: My "opinions" on the war were pretty much fake. I was playing devil's advocate to prove a theory of mine, and what do you know? It worked!

Cats - They suck. They just sit there plotting your demise. Trust me, cats are pure evil.

Just a lil' something. Leave a comment or two and I'll mail you a lollypop. ;)

Lets Get Postin'

It's the 22nd and in 6 days I will start the voting for the Blogger of the Month.

You may be asking, "what's that?" Basically, every month we will cast a vote for the best poster on here on who's the Blogger of the month. And to win you need some quality posts. Anyone can vote for anyone, with the exception that you can't vote for yourself.

So what happens when you win this? Honestly I'm not sure, as of now and I'm open to ideas. But I think what I may do is, the Blogger of the month will receive administrative powers for the following month. But if you've got a better idea, I'm listening.

So yeah, I'm thinking this can be kind of a fun thing to do and a good way to get everyone making quality posts.

If you have any questions, comments, and/or/hopefully some ideas, please tell me now!

Keep up the good work guys, this blog is really doing good for it's first month!

Death Penalty Bad?

Here is a topic that until recently I didn't talk about. This is a short article but I think I bring up my points.

Do I agree with the death penalty? I agree in certain cercumstances. I think there should be certain crimes that can make you liable for the death penalty. Murder would be an example. It would not apply to crimes such as robbery. I would also agree if someone did a crime a certain amount of times somone could get the death penalty. I wouldn't want however minors to get the death penalty because, and I am not saying that it is thier fault, the parents would be legally responsible.

That is what I think the death penalty should be like.

Heres a good example of UNPATRIOTIC

"Our country is founded on a sham: our forefathers were slave-owning rich guys who wanted it thier way. After 5 seconds I learned that Paris Hilton has a new pet. Oh wow, that is just so cool *sarcasm intended*. So I've been thinking, why does the majority of America care? Why?

Why do you care about these so called "celebrities"? Why do you care about who's dating who in a group of people you'll never meet? Why do you care about what they did on their weekend? Why do you care about what they're good at?

I'll be honest with you right now, I hate celebrities. They're all greedy brats who think just because they were the loud mouths in 6th grade and got free money because of it they are more important than you. Come on. I'm more talented than some of these people.

Do people really think this is news? Like it's something they really need to know? Instead of watching the 5:00 news people will watch a documentary about some obscure hard rock band from the '70s. These people don't know what is going on in the world, all they can do is keep a log of what Brittany Spears wears everyday, and whenever she makes a new music video, that's their news. "did you see the new music video? I can't believe she wore that, I wonder what it is, I want one". Do they even know there's a war going on? Call me crazy but at times like this I think the news is just a tinny bit more important.

But if these people want to be brainwashed, that's fine with me, but these people are voting! They don't know what they're talking about. They only base their vote on what they look like. Kerry probably lost last election because of that horrid botox. Not that I wanted him to win, but I mean come on. They have no idea!

So I've come to my conclusion.

Our news stations need to take E!. And what I mean by that is make it entertaining, but in it's own way of course. We can have three hour long documentaries on people who matter; like presidents, on the news stations. Instead of the who's dating who game or the who's wearing what game, the news stations should have a who's lying to who, or who's doing what.

Now don't get me wrong, I don't want to dumb down the news stations, but we do need to have more people watching them than their beloved E!.

Politics can be fun! In fact I am more entertained taking in politics than hearing the who's dating who game on E!.

So, if you are one of those E! Watching zombies, please, please change the channel. Put it on something that matters. News stations. The History channel. The Discovery channel (when they're not doing that motorcycle crap). PBS for all I care, just put it on something that matters!

Borders, Borders, Borders! Part 2

(Note: Please read part one if you haven't already. Part 1 )

I've been talking about border issues for a while now and even I have forgotten about how the northern borders are being forgotten, and in more ways than you may think. If you have any idea how big the threat for terrorism is these days, then this information should make your head spin.

First lets go over some data.

The Canada border length is 3,987 miles long and is mostly made up of mountains prairies waterways and forests making it difficult for border patrol to catch illegals. In all of the 3,987 miles there is only 1,030 border patrol agents. Do the math and that's 3.8 miles per border agent. 3.8 miles of rough terrain mind you. Chances are, one agent would have a hard time patrolling just a quarter of a mile.

To put this all into perspective I will go over some data for the Mexico borders too.

The Mexico border is 1,951 miles of flat, high visibility land. In all of the 1,951 miles there are a total of 9,630 border patrol agents. Do the math and that's 0.2 miles per border patrol agent. About one eigth of a mile. And this 0.2 miles is all flat highly visible land.

This goes to show you the difference in security between the two borders but we still have some numbers to go over.

In a one month period of time there was 7,430 arrests on the Canada border, and 1200000 (1.2 million) arrests on the Mexico border. That means for every arrest in the Canadian border, there were 161 arrests in the Mexico border.

This could mean one of two things, either less people try to pass through the Canadian border, or less people get caught going through the Canadian border.

Judging by the numbers, the logical answer would be the latter because it is so much easier to get through the Canadian border than the Mexican. Although that is probably not true, the point is, is that it is so easy to get through the northern border.

Judging by the amount of border patrol agents and land they have to patrol there is about a 4% chance of getting caught going through the Canadian border, and about a 50% chance of getting caught going through the Mexican border. Just to put things into perspective for you, getting through the border really is that easy.

So if you were a terrorist, which border would you rather try to sneak through?

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://blogforusa.blogspot.com/2005/10/borders-borders-borders-part-2.html' title='Borders, Borders, Borders! The comment was, "We cannot get along as long as the lunatic left is driving the Democratic Party". I stand firmly behind that comment and now I am going to explain why.

First, I am not declaring all liberals to be lunatics. The degree of lunacy is directly proportional to the level of liberalism that one possesses. There are some perfectly sane, rational liberals out there who just see things different than I do. Many of my friends are exactly this type. It's not as though they are foaming-at-the-mouth moonbats, they just refuse to give up on socialism. Fair enough. Even though it seems futile to me, they have every right to continue holding to those old socialist beliefs.

So, what do I mean by "lunatic left"? Quite simply, I mean those certain individuals who inhabit the far left end of the political spectrum. Communists, fascists and those slightly to the right of them are the ones I am referring to. Good examples are people like Cindy Sheehan, Ward Churchill, Michael Moore and George Soros. These individuals and those who think like them, are the driving force behind the Democratic Party. You can find them on Democratic Underground, The Daily Koz and other bastions of liberalism. They populate the ACLU, the NAACP, the ABA and the vast majority of the mainstream media. Your college professors, union leaders and people like Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson are great examples as well.

In Part II of Socialism, USA, I explored who these people are and how it came to be that they inhabit these positions. If you haven't already done so, I suggest you take a few minutes and browse through it. It will provide you with the background for many of the comments that I make. That post summed up many of my thoughts and observations on the left so understanding it will give you a way to understand my thinking process.

These "lunatic leftists" are the money people, the people who direct the funding to the candidates that support their views most accurately. Politicians who cross them risk losing their funding when they seek out a challenger. I forget who it was, but during the 2004 Democratic National Convention, one leading Democrat said something to the effect of "Feminists, gays and athiests, shut up! Just shut up! You'll get everything you want after we win, just shut up for now!". This says a great deal. They (the hardcore left) cannot win by being who they are. They feel the need to camoflage their views and ideas (or lack thereof) in order to win elections. They know that they can never get their ideas passed at the ballot box so they seek control of the SCOTUS in order to push their agenda through.

Anyone who believes that the far left is not in control of the Democratic Party, I give you the example of Joe Lieberman. In 2004, Joe Lieberman was the only moderate candidate that the Democrats offered and he was the first to go. Lieberman had all the qualities to win. He goes to synagogue, he has a solid marriage, stands for real family values and has the respect of Democrats and Republicans both. The movers and shakers on the left got together and took him out right away. For months, the golden boy of the Democratic Party was Howard Dean who is pretty far to the left. I know he has a good standing with the NRA but when you run for election in a small, conservative state, you do what you have to do to stay in power. I don't believe for a minute those "pro-gun" convictions would stick around if he were to win the presidency.

As long as such extreme forces guide one of our political parties, no compromises can be made. This is exactly why I stand by my statement. As long as the lunatic left is in control of the Democratic Party, we will never get along.

History for Sale

Note: This post also appears on the blog But I Can Hear You. Gettysburg is the site of the battle, Lincoln's famous Gettysburg Address, and, if Chance Enterprises has their way, a casino.
Alright, technically its not on the battlefield. But its close enough. And technically its not just a casino, it's a casino spa. The casino supporters say that it will create new jobs and increase tourism. (Does this sound familiar to anyone who lives in Maine?)
However it seems that people aren't buying it. Stephen Maitland (R), the state representative for Pennsylvania stated "I decided to stop keeping score on public opinion when the calls to my office reached 250 'nos' and only 20 'yeses.' "
Thank God not everyone is so greedy as Chance Enterprises. What is wrong with people these days? Honestly, Gettysburg is the site of thousands of deaths, on both sides. It is the site of the most famous Union victory of the Civil War. It is the site of Abraham Lincoln's famous Gettysburg Address. What kind of person sells all that for money?
Apparently people like Chance Enterprises. This plan was proposed in June of 2005 and is still being fought over. This is the kind of thing that will eventually run America's history out in return for lots of money and entertainment. Our history is disappearing under the heel of people like Chance Enterprises and their ilk. Well unfortunately, this country has divided into the red states and the blue states again, as tensions between both sides on the War in Iraq, Hurricane Katrina, ect. continue to build up.

And that brings up sort of a touchy subject: patriotism. If you are against the war, does that make you unpatriotic? Well, I think it's completely absurd to say such a thing. Those who support the war are just as patriotic as those who oppose it. These people, no matter the side, all want what they think is best for this country.

So yes, if you look at it this way, the left, who have been viewed as unpatriotic for their opposition of the Iraq War, are just as partiotic as the right. Again, these two sides want what is right for America...their opinions on that vary significantly, but they nonetheless both want the best.

I got the Indecision 2004 Daily Show DVD, and John Mccain said something in an interview that has really meant a lot to me. He said that we need to view the opposing side as the opponent, not the enemy.

So it disappoints me when the right or the left is called the "enemy." Last time I checked, we were fighting a war on terrorism...not against the other political party. But with last year's hotly contested Bush vs. Kerry race, that whole enemy thing was a popular campaign tactic. Both candidates ran an incredibly disrespectful campaign...I think you all would agree with me in that 75% of the ads were attacking the other candidate.

But maybe in today's political climate, that's the only way to win. Maybe the best way to get America's attention is with Swift Boat Veterans for Truth, or Moveon.org slinging the mud at eachother contantly. That would be unfortunate, because that sort of campaign would only deepen the divide in today's America.

GOD BLESS AMERICA

God Bless America! We are the founders of freedom for all people. We also have the military might to blow this planet to smithereens. That would not be a very logical thing to do unless we thought we were the cockroaches of the universe. Apparently the Islamic extremists think that we are, and I am beginning to believe that some liberals do as well. Think about what the Islamic Extremists believe about us and what we do to attempt to try to help people in distress and under tyranny. Those of us who believe in God, believe in a God that is basically merciful, and will incorporate anyone of any other belief, be they Muslims, Bhuddists, whatever, as long as the basic principals of humanity and the rights of all people to be free from tyranny are incorporated within their belief systems. If you believe that men and women are equal you cannot be a Muslim. I have to say here, that I am not including Muslim American citizens, because frankly I do not know. But Muslims in their own country do believe men and women are not equal. In Saudi Arabia, women cannot even leave their homes without permission, let alone drive. Because a woman is considered unclean, she may not walk in front of a Muslim male who is in prayer. If she does, the Muslim male has to begin his prayers all over again because she has defiled them. Male and female Muslims are not allowed to worship in the same location. Freedom is not a gender prerequisite. If I can drive, my husband should be able to drive. We are equal. The majority of the warfare in this world presently is because there is a gender gap that the Muslims will not respond to. They are two thousand years behind where they should be, and would be if they would only utilize their entire population and not only the male part of it.
The Iraqi war shows anyone that the terrorists main objective is to subjugate women along with anyone who is not an Islamic extremist. They have proven this in Afghanistan with the covering up of all the females from head to toe. The choice was either cover up or be killed. Some choice! They consider the bodies of women to be unholy. There are no priciples of free will, ie., democracy, in their agenda. Anyone in America who refuses to understand that we are fighting an opponent every bit as vicious as the SS in Nazi Germany does not have a grasp on what the Terrorists are capable of.

Again, God bless America. And even if you don't believe in God, be thankful for America, because America is doing it's level best to protect you. Our soldiers are sacrificing their lives to protect you. President Bush is failing in doing his level best to protect you by leaving our borders wide open, which is an oversight which might bite us all in the butt, so I cannot, in all truthfulness, say that he is doing his level best to protect you. Fact is, he is our president and human, and capable of making mistakes and I personally believe that leaving our borders open is a big one! The Russians were attacked on their southern border by Chechen rebels in the town of Nalchik (http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20051013/ap_on_re_eu/russia_attack), the same ones that committed the school massacre, because their southern border was left wide open. We must learn from the mistakes of others, not only in present times, but by looking and studying history as well.

But still I say, God bless America, Land of the free... and so should every liberal out there who is ranting and raving about our taking up arms against terrorists. I, a conservative, am considered to be a "warmonger." I take this with a grain of salt because it is a myth perpetrated by Democrats to further their agenda. I know I am not a warmonger. I want absolute freedom in this world for all peoples, including liberals. I want freedom for all women. There is only one thing standing in the way of that right now, and that thing is called TERRORISM. Freedom is not what they want. Peace is not what they want. Absolute control of the world and of women is their only goal. Freedom has never come cheaply... it has, unfortunately, a great and tragic cost. It has never come to this little insignificant planet (insignificant in the great scheme of the entire universe) without a great price. I believe however, that it is a price worth fighting for and if I were acceptable I assure everyone reading this I would be willing to fight for this country. Possibly, acceptable or not, I may have to, if it gets as bad as I think it may because our borders are still wide open.
God bless America...

And to borrow a phrase from the military: HOOAH! (for those of you who do not know what that means it means: We will overcome!)

Socialism, USA parts--1+2

(Note: these articles were actually written by nightcrawler aka Michael Stone, not me. He has asked me to post them for him so I did.)

Socialism, USA -- Part I

I was digging around on the Communist Party website -- CPUSA, for those of you who want to check it out, and it reinforced my belief in capitalism. It made me more determined than ever to fight Communism, Socialism, and anyone seeking to advance the Marxist agenda with every last breath in my body. What could have bothered me so much? Take a peek at some of the stated goals of the CPUSA:

"It is true socialism will nationalize or socialize all large-scale production, property and real estate. But socialism does not abolish ALL privately-owned business. It does not require nationalization of those small businesses owned by people who work for themselves and do not hire others to make a profit."

In other words, the government is going to set a glass ceiling on what we, feeble-minded Americans can do with our efforts. So, you want to start a small business making quilts in your home? Fine. If your business does extremely well, and you need to start hiring people to meet the demands of your customers, your business becomes property of the State. So, where's the incentive for people to start up a business? Do you have any idea how hard it is to own and run your own business? Nobody is going to even attempt it if they can't enjoy the fruits of their labor.

"Socialism provides moral incentives because the fruits of labor benefit all. No person robs others of the profits from their labor; when social goals are adopted by the majority, people will want to work for these goals. Work will seem less a burden, more and more a creative activity, where everyone is his/her neighbor's helper instead of rival."

What a load of horsecrap this is. Translation: Your only reward for your work is the warm, squishy feeling you'll get from knowing that your work is benefiting everyone. Working in a Communist/Socialist environment is kinda like peeing yourself while wearing black pants. You get a warm feeling, but nobody else notices. Check out the line about "when social goals are adopted by the majority...". Exactly what is going to make the majority adopt these wonderful social goals? If it was going to happen naturally, don't you think it would have happened by now? Of course it would have! But, if the government FORCES people to adopt these goals by giving them no other alternative, why... everything would be absolutely perfect.

"There will be rapid abolition of racism and national oppression. Socialism will bring complete equality for all racially and nationally oppressed. There will be no compromise with racism, for there will no longer exist a capitalist class which profits from it. Racism, national oppression, anti-Semitism, sexism, anti-immigrant discrimination and all forms of prejudice and bigotry will be banned by law, with strict measures of enforcement. Affirmative action will be expanded immediately to undo and make up for hundreds of years of the ravages of racism. Full equality will be one of the main priorities of the new society."

This paragraph makes some absolutely absurd assumptions about the nature of racism, and human nature in general. For one, you have to accept the premise that racism, sexism, and the other evils mentioned are purely born of one group's desire to hold an economic advantage over another. In the opening of the paragraph, they state that these things will magically vanish because of the elimination of the capitalist society that causes them. Then, it states that they will be banned by law and strict measures of enforcement will exist. Why? If you've already eliminated the root cause of these things, why do we need laws banning them? Won't they be dealt with as a natural result of the destruction of capitalism? In the Soviet Union, there was racism, sexism, and anti-Semitism, and capitalism was nowhere to be found, except amongst the ruling class and their associates. Then, it goes on to state that full equality will be one of the main priorities of the new society. How many of you are buying this? I bet at least one of you.

"War propaganda will be outlawed."

Does anybody besides me remember the Cold War?

"The only privileged sectors will be the children and seniors, who have earned the right to a healthy, happy, secure retirement. The children will reap all the benefits of socialist child care, free nurseries and schools with the very best facilities and teachers. Children will have wonderful recreational and sports facilities. They will have the option to choose whatever career they wish, and the free education and training to achieve it.Socialism provides the economic foundation for effective democracy for the masses of people. To carry through the socialist economic and social transformation requires political rule by the working class - a government of, by and for the working people."

Hold on... I thought we were all going to be equal? Now we have established two classes of priveliged people. Then, it states that children will have the option to choose whatever career they wish, and the free education and training to achieve it. Why should they choose anything? What's the point? Heaven forbid they be successful at it. The government would seize their business or make them employees of the State. Besides, what if they go into their chosen field and they suck at it? Have these people seriously thought this through? I love this next part: "To carry through the socialist economic and social transformation requires political rule by the working class - a government of, by and for the working people." Umm... the last time I checked, anybody could run for office, and nobody got elected without winning the office in an election. (No comments about 2000 -- Bush won the electoral college, I'd really rather not fight that fight in this post. Maybe in a future post, if there is a demand for it.)

At this point, I'm going to post the rest of the page, then I'm going to leave it open for your comments. I want you to read all of these things, then think about them. What and who do they sound like? Who embodies virtually all of these beliefs in one form or another? Please, post your comments, let me know what's running through your mind as you read these things.

Socialism USA

Socialism USA will benefit from the experiences, the mistakes and succesess of the countries who built and are building socialism. But mainly it will reflect the distinctive features of U.S. development and environment.

Unique historical advantages, like the unequalled natural resources, fertile soil and perfect weather, coupled with the contributions of generations of working people, enabled U.S. capitalism to achieve higher productive levels and living standards than capitalism in other countries. So, too, the development of socialism here will have some distinct advantages.

1.) We have a highly developed industrial society with a highly trained and educated work force.

2.) Free from foreign intervention, socialism will not have to divert human and economic resources to defend itself.

3.) Socialism USA will avoid the terrible problems of extreme poverty, illiteracy, civil wars, wars of intervention and world wars.

4.) Socialism USA will extend democracy to its fullest, taking as its starting point the democratic traditions and institutions of the American people.

Path to Socialism

We say that it may be possible in the U.S. to bring socialism through peaceful means. Perhaps through the ballot box. One thing is clear, there won't be socialism in the U.S. until the majority of the American people want it.

I like to say that when workers enter the corporate board rooms to take over and the ruling class says: O.K. you're right, we made a mess of things and now you should run it all. Well then there won't be any trouble. But if the ruling class says: Forget it! And call out the army and the police and the national guard, then that is how revolutions become violent. It starts with the ruling class. Workers and their allies have to defend themselves and to fight for what is rightfully theirs.

We believe and advocate that a socialist society in our country will guarantee all the liberties defined in the Bill of Rights but never fully realized. These include the right of people to express themselves fully and freely through organizations of their choice and competing candidates who respect and are guided by the concept of building socialism.

Indeed, the freedoms in the Bill of Rights will take on far greater meaning for the great majority, who will now own the meeting halls, press, radio and TV, and will be able to exercise that freedom effectively.

That's why we call ours Bill of Rights Socialism, USA.

Socialism is our vision for America's future. It is a vision we are winning more and more people to because it is logical - really a great - replacement for capitalism. And because it is the next inevitable step up the ladder of human civilization.

Socialism, USA -- Part II

Okay, here it is. The conclusion to my most read, most successful post so far. I hope you enjoy it.

First, a recap of the end of Socialism, USA from Part I.

Notice how they hint, in the first paragraph, that they are willing to bring about their goals through violence. The implied threat comes under the line about "it may be possible to bring about Socialism in the U.S. through peaceful means". Commies are big on militant uprisings.

In the next paragraph, note how the author refers to the "workers" as defending themselves when and if the "ruling class" resists their takeover. Is it possible to play offense and defense at the same time? This is yet more rhetoric that hints at an armed takeover of America.

In the third paragraph, note the choices given to people under the "democracy" envisioned by the CPUSA. You can choose between Socialist candidates and Socialist candidates. How generous of them.
Note in the 4th paragraph how it talks about the majority owning the press, the TV, the radio, and the meeting houses. By the majority, they are of course, referring to the government. So much for the 1st Amendment, so much for a free and independent press.

The last paragraph is absolutely absurd. I don't even know what to say to that except something rhyming with Bolshevik. Well, okay, it's not a good rhyme, but close enough. You get the point.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-----------------------------------------------------

Now, as for the 10 Points of the Communist Manifesto:

1. Abolition of private property in land an application of all rents of land to public purposes.

2. A heavy progressive or graduated income tax.

3. Abolition of all right of inheritance.

4. Confiscation of the property of all emigrants and rebels.

5. Centralization of credit in the hands of the state, by means of a national bank with state capital and an exclusive monopoly.

6. Centralization of the means of communication and transport in the hands of the state.

7. Extension of factories and instruments of production owned by the state; the bringing into cultivation of waste lands and the improvement of the soil generally in accordance with the common plan.

8. Equal liability of all to labor. Establishment of industrial armies especially for agriculture.

9. Combination of agriculture with manufacturing industries, gradual abolition of the distinction between town and country by more equitable distribution of the population over the country.

10. Free education for all children in public schools. Abolition of children's factory labor in its present form. Combination of education with industrial production.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-----------------------------------------------------

Now, let's look at the mechanisms by which Communists/Socialists start revolutions and come to power. An understanding of these mechanisms should give us a good grasp as to how these people are shaping things in our society today.

1. Class warfare: Long a staple of the Communists, they love to play the working class (the poor) against the upper class (the rich). In America, their efforts have been thus far unsuccessful, mostly due to the strong presence of a middle class, and the fact that few people in our country ever stay in one income bracket too long. Historically, Communists have sought two different paths around this obstacle.
a.) Re-defining "lower class": This involves setting a cutoff between the haves and the have nots, usually around an income of $100,000.00 per year. By setting this cutoff, they separated our society into two separate groups in hopes of playing one against the other. Unfortunately for them, a middle class family can now make $100,000.00 per year if both spouses have decent jobs, such as a police officer and a nurse. I have seen moves towards raising the cutoff to $500,000 per year in speeches in the recent past.

b.) The elimination of the middle class: This involves culling the herd a bit, risking the isolation of large groups of people. The Communists set a figure, usually a household income of around $40,000.00 per year, then create policies aimed at both sides in an attempt to widen the gap between the two sides and prevent any of the lower class people from moving into the upper income brackets. The progressive income tax is very proficient at this. By installing a dramatic increase in the percentage of income taxed above this cutoff, it is possible for a person to get a raise, but bring home quite a bit less money. It is my opinion that this strategy may be backfiring somewhat, as now we are hearing quite a bit of noise about revamping the tax code to eliminate such increases.

2. Secular Humanism: Communists know that if the people believe in a supreme being, with ultimate power and authority, then the state cannot possibly be all powerful. This is why our founding fathers wrote such a belief into the Declaration of Independence, they understood this fact. If our rights come from God, government may not take them away. This means that religion is in direct competition and opposition to Communism and therefore cannot be tolerated. In the Soviet Union, they wrote a separation of church and state into their constitution in order to draw a line, in the minds of the people and before the law, that separated God's authority from that of the state. Of course, they set the state above God. Stalin had as many priests as he could find rounded up and either executed, exiled, or imprisoned. Churches were burned, bibles were banned, and anyone caught discussing religion could be arrested and executed as an enemy of the state.

To further this, they advance Secular Humanism, the belief that Man is God, and that there is no higher authority than Man. Since the Communist government holds the power of life and death over its subjects, the government is now God. They are the providers for the people, they are the protectors of the people, and they determine the fate of the people. Schoolchildren in Russia were encouraged to place their heads on their desks and pray to God for a candy bar. Surely if he were all-powerful, he could provide them with something as simple as candy, right? The children would pray, and nothing would happen. Then, they were told to put their heads down, and this time, pray to Stalin. When they looked up, guess what was on their desks... a candy bar. The Soviets understood that Communism and Religion, particularly Christianity, were incompatible.

3. Dependence on Government: Since everything was owned by the people, and the people were owned by the government, the people were at the mercy of the government for everything from their housing, their income, their food, clothing, and even family planning. People were in no position to provide for themselves unless they participated in the Black Market, and for that they and their families could be executed, their property seized, and their assets redistributed amongst the people. Of course, the government participated in capitalism and enjoyed the benefits that the sale of their products and services brought, but this wealth was largely kept from the people. Most Soviets lived in squalid conditions with substandard housing, medical care, and they suffered under a near constant food shortage.

4. Public Education: The Soviets were believers in public education as a means of indoctrinating their youth in Communism. They studied all of the Communist literature and were not exposed to anything contrary to the agenda of "the people". Their schools were nothing more than re-education centers or Secular Humanist theological seminaries. In this way, the people knew nothing except what the Party deemed that they should know.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-----------------------------------------------------

Now, I want to take a moment to say that I do not believe that ALL liberals are Communists or Socialists. I know quite a few liberals who are absolutely against Communism, and who realize that it won't ever work, no matter who is in charge of the government. Nonetheless, many liberals, even those who disagree with Communism, have adopted many of the beliefs of Communism or share a great deal of sympathy with the stated goals of Socialism. The problem is that since the 1920's, we have had a strong Communist presence in this country that has never been dealt with. These are not people who live on the fringe, as many would like to believe. Many of these people have reached high positions within our government, to the point that the State Department was thoroughly saturated with Communists and Communist sympathizers.

Academia is also thoroughly saturated with Communists, Marxists, Socialists, etc. Many professors are virulently anti-capitalist, even to the point of comparing victims of 9/11 to "little Eichmann's". Not all of the anti-Americans are Communists, but as Sun-Tzu said, "The enemy of my enemy is my friend". To this end, we've seen some alliances form, and some cross-threading and interweaving of ideas. The anti-Semites joined forces with the anti-Americans due to America's support of Israel. These groups were then joined by environmentalists who were angered over America's rampant consumption of resources and, in their eyes, contributions to the destruction of the environment. Women's rights advocates joined minority rights advocates, then became united over the issue of abortion to a great degree. This put them at odds with Christianity, causing them to join the ranks of the Secular Humanists. Environmentalists, anti-Semites, and anti-Americans all became united through this Secular Humanism to one another. In every case, what began as an honest movement for reform soon became part of a counter-culture movement aimed at destroying the status quo and at the center of it all, in my opinion, lie the Marxists.

It is little wonder that the East and West coasts are the modern Meccas for liberalism. San Francisco was a major breeding ground for Communism, largely through the Beatnick movement, then later through the "Hippy" movement. Communist pamphlets and books were in large supply at underground bookstores and were distributed widely among college campuses. Some of the most popular and influential poets and writers throughout the 50's and into the 70's were Communists. As generations wore on, and more children were born during this time, the counter-cultural movement in San Francisco soon became the norm.

In New York lies the UN, the symbol of a potential counter-balance to the power and supremacy of the United States. To those, like Madaline Albright, who wish to see some other country or alliance rise in power to equal or even surpass the United States, the UN contains a great deal of potential. Unfortunately for them, the UN is incapable of enforcing its own mandates. Of course, the UN isn't the sole source of liberalism in New York. Not far away are Harvard College, Princeton, Yale, and other major universities. Due to the large Communist presence in these institutions, it is only reasonable that the products of an education under these instructors are quite liberal. When Alger Hiss was outed by Joe McCarthy as being a Communist spy, many alumni of these universities, along with the faculties, issued their support for a man that should have been executed as a traitor. Harvard (I believe) has an Alger Hiss chair, named in honor of a man that sought to end democracy in the United States forever.

The Old Gray Lady herself, The New York Times, has had a long history of supporting known Communists. Again, when Alger Hiss was outed, the Times issued editorial after editorial praising him. The Times published an editorial in strong support of Fidel Castro when he first came into power, praising him for his idealism and revolutionary thinking. Time and again, the Times refused to publish news that would have been detrimental to the image of Communism, preferring to instead publish one tirade after another, declaring the recklessness and foolishness of any politician who dared to oppose the Soviet Union.
New York is the financial heart of the United States. When our college grads went out into the workforce, especially those from the Ivy League, New York was the obvious choice of locations for them. Where better to make a name for themselves, and make a boatload of cash in the process? This led to a concentration of highly educated and indoctrinated liberals who were supported in their ideals by the editorials of the Times. Nigela wanted to know why there were so many Kerry voters in New York, even after 9/11... that's a huge part of the reason right there. Even so, the number of Bush voters was higher than expected, and he came dangerously close to carrying New Jersey (relatively speaking).

Because Democrats have historically been the party of the working class, the oppressed and downtrodden, they have embraced many populist movements. Although they were a bit slow in jumping on the Civil Rights bandwagon (Republicans beat them to it by about 100 years), eventually, thanks to JFK, they picked up the banner and carried it forth. By this time, much had been accomplished and the rights of blacks and other minorities were well on their way to being recognized and protected. Democrats were also a bit slow picking up on the Women's Rights movement, but once the debate became about abortion, it gained real momentum. Of course, this was thanks to the counter-culture movements that came out of San Francisco, and the effort was helped along by sympathetic liberals on the Atlantic coast. Roe vs. Wade was the culmination of their efforts, and set a precedent that they were quick to employ.

Why was abortion so important, so central to the Communists? Two reasons. First, it proved an issue that they could use to divide the electorate. You had the Christians, who were largely scattered and poorly organized at the time, and you had the Secularists. The Secularists were better organized, better funded, and quite frankly, better educated. They knew the ins and outs of the law, and how to play the legal semantics game better than anyone else. Add a little creativity from the Supreme Court, and voila! Legal abortions. Second, to Socialists, each new life is another mouth to feed, another body to clothe, and each new life means that there are fewer resources to be distributed amongst the population. A birth is not something to be celebrated, it is an additional drain on the resources of the state.

Why was the Civil Rights so important to the Communists? Why is it still essential to them? Because through race, they found another method of dividing the people. By dangling the carrot of "equality" in front of them, by promising more and more government money through welfare and social programs, they bought the minority vote. By aggitating, and sometimes manufacturing strife, they continued to find new reasons to use the power of the government to divide the people and keep the wounds from healing. The whole idea of reparations to blacks stems from this need, as does affirmative action. No blacks living today were ever slaves, nor were their parents. No whites living today were ever slave masters, nor were their parents. It's all about the redistribution of wealth and using the power of the government to promote "equality" by tearing down the existing wealth. Affirmative Action is in itself racist, since it establishes a racial point system and quotas, forcing businesses and universities to accept minorities not on the basis of their merit, but on the color of their skin.

Environmentalism is also necessary to the Communists. Again, it is about counter-culture movements and attacking capitalism. The Kyoto Accords were a stunning example of this. They would have place draconian restrictions and penalties on the U.S., while offering economic advantages to some of the worst polluters and most populous countries in the world. It was not about cleaner air, it was about placing a drag on the U.S. economy to allow other nations to compete. Besides, we now know that cleaner air is accelerating global warming, so the Kyoto Accords would have been detrimental to the environment, if they had fulfilled their stated purpose.

As far as Welfare goes, this is an easy one. By placing as many people on welfare as possible, you create hordes of people who are dependent on the government for their needs. Again, the sector of the population hardest hit by this was minorities, but thanks to the loosening of requirements, we are seeing more and more people joining the ranks of the "disabled". Some of these people are receiving government money simply because they cannot read or write, some because they wear glasses, and some because they just don't get along well with other people. I know, because I speak to these people daily.

Anyhow, these are the links between today's Democrats and the Socialists. Perhaps I can come up with better examples, but it is getting late and my brain is turning to mush. It is important to note that not all Democrats are Socialists, but they are serving a useful purpose to the Communists in America. By advancing one plank of the Socialist agenda at a time, they are laying the groundwork for a Socialist state.

I realize that I haven't addressed taxes or Socialized medicine... I will do this in my next post. Probably tomorrow night. Until then, tell me what you think.

Thank you for reading, and good night.

Secret Mexican

I've been coming up with a song about illegal immigrants, it goes to the tune of Secret Agent Man.

(disclaimer: I don't hate Mexicans, I hate Mexicans who come here illegally)

three hundred and seventy illegals coming tomorrow
If we let them through we'll soon feel sorrow

He got a drivers license from the mayor
And 10 billion bucks from the taxpayer

Secret Mexican
Secret Mexican

He's passin' through our borders
And takin' money from the man

He came to sell his crack
And I doubt that he'll go back
The minute men won't wait until tomorrow

Secret Mexican
Secret Mexican

He's passin' through our borders
And takin' money from the man

He sits in a nice chair
Collecting his welfare
The taxpayer won't wait until tomorrow

Secret Mexican
Secret Mexican

He's passin' through our borders
And takin' money from the man

Secret Mexican
Secret Mexican

He's passin' through our borders
And takin' money from the man

Mired In Miers, Caught Up In Katrina and All Shook Up!

I'd like to take a moment to reflect on the big three news items that are currently circulating in the MSM:

Harriet Miers: I've been rather amused by the way this is being covered. The MSM seems to be focusing more on the dissent from the right than the woman herself. They are absolutely relishing the fact that many Republicans are not happy with Dubya over his pick. I've gone back and forth myself over her nomination and I've come to a conclusion. We've trusted G.W. this far, why not ride this pony to the end?

Harriet Miers may not be the uber-conservative we all hoped for but as long as she is dedicated to applying the Constitution, not "interpreting" it (interpreting the Constitution gives too much leeway to activist judges), we should be okay. G.W. thinks she's the right person for the job and maybe he's right. It's really rather silly to be questioning his judgment now. If we allow this to divide us (those of us on the right) before the '06 elections, we're going to lose some seats. To preserve party unity and further unity throughout the country, we should sit back and give her an honest shake without all of the cutting remarks and political maneuvering.

Hurricane Katrina: The MSM has been avoiding Ray Nagin's name like the plague. It seems to me that they are trying desperately to make sure that everyone makes the automatic association between Bush and New Orleans while overlooking the fact that there are other layers of government besides the federal government. What could their motivation possibly be? Why, the protection of these precious Democrats, that's what. If you pay attention, all of the polling asks whether or not people think Bush is responsible for the chaos that followed the hurricane/flood. Very seldom is anyone else's name mentioned anywhere in the story. You'd think Bush was the president, the mayor of New Orleans and the governor of Louisiana all at the same time. It's shameful that few people are actually calling them out on this.

The earthquake: Yes, I mean the one in Pakistan. It seems to me that the MSM decided this was the perfect opportunity to remind people that bin Laden is still on the loose by raising the question of how he fared. True, I thought the same thing when I heard what happened but it was a passing thought. The truth is that whether bin Laden is dead or alive makes no difference. The communications that we've intercepted from top Al-Qaida leaders makes it pretty clear that our strategy is working. It also makes it clear that the Democrats and the terrorists are on the same page. Forcing an immediate withdrawal of our troops from Iraq is at the top of both agendas. Did anyone catch the memo on that?

The earthquake is definitely a tragedy but I believe that some good may come of it. Through the aid that we are sending to those affected, they may see that we are not the "devils" that bin Laden and other terrorists make us out to be. When we are over there providing food, shelter, clothing and medical attention, we are spreading the message that we care about them. This may ring false for the die-hard terrorists but for the average Pakistani, it could be enough to change their opinion of us. Oh, kudos to Pres. Musharraf for hounding al-Qaida. They're pretty pissed at him for getting so close to killing or capturing so many top al-Qaida leaders. We may soon find out that the big cheese himself is rotting in a cell somewhere in an undisclosed location and being interrogated by people who don't necessarily adhere to our guidelines for questioning suspects. I'd be in no hurry to take possession of him.

Anyhow, just a few of my observations for my inaugural post. Thanks for letting me share them with you.

What I Love About America

As many of you may know, I'm a Democrat, but I'm going to stay completely non-political here. This blog is about what makes America great, so let's talk about that. There are a many things I love about this country, but one of my favorites is being able to freely express an opinion.

Of course, you can freely express it within certian limits, but think about Iraq when it was under rule of Saddam Hussein. You want to oppose the government? Fine, but we'll throw you in prison, and perhaps kill you.

So the freedom you get to protest at the Republican National Convention or the Democratic National Convention might not seem to be that big of a deal, but there are countless countries where speaking out against the government is simply not possible. That is one of the things I love about the US. You can be whatever you chose: right, left, or somewhere in the middle. And no one can stop you.

It probably seems like I'm stating the obvious here, but it's worth mentioning all of the political freedom that we get. I can call you righties crazy, and you can call me crazy, but at the end of the day, we are united. As Barack Obama said, I don't see the red states or the blue states...I see red white and blue states.

Borders, Borders, Borders!

This is a topic, a topic much more important than abortion, or capitol punishment. Our borders are wide open. People are running into America with no intention of making it a better place. Some people are so sick of the government ignoring this they take the job into their own hands, and they get no recognition, they get criticized for being racist.

They are not racist. Most of these people coming into America illegally have no intention of doing it for work. They want free government money. That's right, not only are we leaving the borders open but we're giving out money to the people who sneak in illegally. 10 billion a year to be exact. That's taxpayer money. You work so these people can take your money when they are able bodied. And yes they are able bodied, they have to make a walk through desert and rivers to get here, they don't need the money.

But they're not just coming over for money. They could break the law in Mexico and come into America and be off the hook. Or they could go to America, do some drug dealing, and come back to Mexico and be off the hook. Now the Canada border is also open, but nowhere near as bad. So the people that want the illegals to stop taking your money, breaking the law, and just causing havoc and leave are racist? No, it has nothing to do with race, like I said, the Canada borders are open too and some of the same things are happening there. These people want to help clean up America and you don't like it? Maybe you just don't understand, you're still under the impression that they're there for work, right?

No, they're coming over to be malicious, work just keeps the food on the table if the welfare checks come a day or two late. And then people will of course tell me how keeping these people in their own country will hurt our economy. Like I said, very few of them actually work and if they do I'm pretty sure they're working at gas stations and convenience stores, not Microsoft. A few less workers is something we can live with if it means keeping freeloaders and lawbreakers out.

Sometimes I wonder if the word "illegal" is just dropped by some. They're not immigrants, they're illegal immigrants. And I'm for immigration, if you want to legally come into our country and have good intention then you are welcome, but if you can't take the time to sign a few papers and come in the right way, then you are breaking the law and you need to stop.

These illegals can get drivers licenses. What does that mean? A lot. Once you get your drivers license it doesn't matter if you're legal or not anymore because if you've got your license then everyone thinks you are legal. And you can do a lot with a license. You can get a plane ticket, vote, buy a gun, and other things. Not only that but you can get an ID even easier which broadens your capabilities even more. You can get welfare, social security, food stamps, and other government handouts.

The illegals are also slowing down our schools and filling up our prisons. More illegals in school means not only more teachers, but more teachers trying to help kids that don't even fully understand the English language. They are wasting our prison space where we need to feed them and take care of them. Both of these things are paid for by the taxpayer.

Some will still call me racist by saying I think they're all criminals. They are all criminals, they snuck in illegally! Not only that but most of them have criminal records other then that!

So what's their next argument? You're blowing it out of proportion. Sorry, I'm not. This problem is real. If you want to know how big this is, on average 375 people come into America illegally on a daily bases. These people are breaking the law, taking our money, and more. But not only that but what they're doing is a slap in the face to the people who immigrated here legally. They signed the papers, took the tests, paid their fee, and got in the right way.

But there is something even worse then the 10 billion a year from these people or the lawlessness. Just because the countries adjacent to us are Mexico and Canada, doesn't mean the only people coming in here illegally are Mexican and Canadian. Do you know how easy it is for an Islamic terrorist to fly to Canada, sneak across the border, obtain a drivers license and ID, and set off a bomb. Very easy. In fact some of these people are in America right now, just waiting for the time to bomb us.

Now do you all understand how important it is to close off the borders? Very. It could mean millions of dollars or even millions of lives if we don't.

Stay the Course

It is a widely accepted fact that we need to stay the course in iraq and support the troops. This will improve the troops moral greatly. Why would you want to be negatory towards the troops? that will cause more troops to die. Why do people hate america so much? Ill tell you. Theyre jealous. 300 years ago when we declared our independence, that was a HUGE ordeal. Nothing like this had ever happened in the history of our world. And now everyones trying to become the same thing we are right now. I look back at our history, and I see a lot of people going through some hard times, but never the less working together to create a nation of greatness. And now look at us. This is the greatest nation in the world, and I am proud to Pledge my Allegiance to it.

Lord, where is our freedom?
When will our hope begin?

Lord, what of the promise you made?
When will it come?

We have waited for the time,
for the truth to live,
when justice will shine.

Too long, those hands of Greed,
Held on, and made us bleed.
When will your people breathe?
Lord, will it come?

America, Don't Tell Us How to Run it

Recently I had some guy in Argentina tell me what he thought of my country. I cannot pretend that I didn't start it. America simply is the best country on the planet. This is not an opinion, it is a fact. I resent people from South American countries telling me how my own should be run. Let's look at the facts. America is the richest (in terms of income and resources) country in the world, the most free, has the best military and weapons. It is the best country in the world, no competition. The best part about America is that even if I disagreed with it I can say so without fear. This alone sets a standard all countries should follow. So if you live somewhere else, don't tell me how to run this place because frankly, we've been doing it best for 229 years.

Oklahoma Almost Homicide Bomber

Remember this story? It just happened last Saturday. If you haven't heard about it then you either don't listen to talk radio or you didn't watch the news Monday morning at 4:00 AM.

Since the majority of America doesn't even know about this story because the media wants to cover it up, I'll touch up on the subject, but I must warn you it won't be long because I can't find one single story on the internet on this. Everything I'm about to say I remembered from a few days ago on the radio.

There is a college kid who attempted to bomb a crowded football stadium. The kid had his ticket but he couldn't get in because he noticed that people were checking bags, and his bag had a nice big bomb in it. So instead of trying to get in he just blows himself up, only he died.

So lets back up and go over some things that happened before that. This kid had three room mates who just so happened to be Arabs. According to the FBI there was Jihad information on his laptop computer and the kid went to a gardening shop for a liquid with an ingredient called ammonium-nitrate in it that could be used for his bomb. He said he was using it for plants, but there are no plants in, on, or near his dorm room. These are all convincing facts that it wasn't an accident, and it had something to do with Jihad.

If this attack, god forbid went as planned, there would be many bloody deaths at the sold out football game. There was a tree a good few yards away from where he blew himself up. There are holes in the tree. A fragmentation bomb. This kid really wanted to murder hundreds, possibly thousands of people.

But this attempt in attack isn't what is bugging me so much as the fact that no one is covering this. I've seen it once on the television early in the morning, and twice on the radio late at night, other than that there is no coverage and 90% of America doesn't even know about this. Why does the media push this story aside? America wants to know when she gets an attempt in terrorism. If only people would cover this maybe, just maybe everyone would finally understand what the enemy is. People have forgotten 9/11, and this story should be a reminder that America isn't yet safe from terrorism. This is a big story, and I want some coverage!

What this blog is about

This blog is all about America. In other words, it doesn't matter if you're left or right, as long as you love America you're welcome to come here and tell me what you think.
