History for Sale

(I'm sorry for going to NPR.com, it was the only place I could find a picture.)
As everyone should know, the battle of Gettysburg was one of the most famous battles in the American Civil War. Gettysburg is the site of the battle, Lincoln's famous Gettysburg Address, and, if Chance Enterprises has their way, a casino.
Alright, technically its not on the battlefield. But its close enough. And technically its not just a casino, it's a casino spa. The casino supporters say that it will create new jobs and increase tourism. (Does this sound familiar to anyone who lives in Maine?)
However it seems that people aren't buying it. Stephen Maitland (R), the state representative for Pennsylvania stated "I decided to stop keeping score on public opinion when the calls to my office reached 250 'nos' and only 20 'yeses.' "
Thank God not everyone is so greedy as Chance Enterprises. What is wrong with people these days? Honestly, Gettysburg is the site of thousands of deaths, on both sides. It is the site of the most famous Union victory of the Civil War. It is the site of Abraham Lincoln's famous Gettysburg Address. What kind of person sells all that for money?
Apparently people like Chance Enterprises. This plan was proposed in June of 2005 and is still being fought over. This is the kind of thing that will eventually run America's history out in return for lots of money and entertainment. Our history is disappearing under the heel of people like Chance Enterprises and their ilk. Hopefully people will always know that America's history is more important than money.

Why does everyone think casinos are the best way to make jobs. Sure they make jobs, but they take money from the people who are stupid enough to gamble, and all of that money go into useless government programs, and I mean useless.
There are plenty of other ways to create jobs, that don't disrupt American history, or send money to the government to be spent on crap.
Hey Robby, did you see the article I made on warzone?
http://iraqwarzoneeditorials.blogspot.com
Yeah. Good job on that one. Makes a lot of good points.
What's with that guy? Cody can you delete that? I don't have the admin settings.
I could, but it looks like the guy supports the blog.
It looks like spam from a school of thought. I'll track that guy down and see what he's talking about.

He seems ok, but I'm a naturally suspicious little a**hole so...
I don't know guys. It's possible Thought & Humor is just pulling your chains here.
That's a good post, DarkSaturos, with a good point. Chance Enterprises would probably put a Casino on the grounds of the Twin Towers if they thought they could get away with it! Greed is not dead in America, is it? Some will do anything for money!
I attempted to go to Thought & Humor's blog, two of them, and each time I did my computer froze. I don't know what the deal is, but am not going to try to attempt it again.
One more thing: How about we change the template? That way the sidebar will go back to where it's supposed to be.
What's up with the sidebar? It seems ok to me.
Great Post DS!
Yeah, we got that fixed, if you make really long words with no spaces it doesn't go to another line and it pushes the sidebar down. We've got that fixed though.
(Not to mention I spent hours making the template)
That's weird. Whenever I pull up this blog the sidebar is at the bottom of the page. But if it's only on my pc that way, then no big deal. (I don't understand it though.) You did a good job on the template, Cody.
hmmm, maybe it's your browsers text size is to big. Try putting it on medium and see how it looks.
(view; text size; medium)
Okay. Will do. Thanks!
