Lets Get Postin'

It's the 22nd and in 6 days I will start the voting for the Blogger of the Month.

You may be asking, "what's that?" Basically, every month we will cast a vote for the best poster on here on who's the Blogger of the month. And to win you need some quality posts. Anyone can vote for anyone, with the exception that you can't vote for yourself.

So what happens when you win this? Honestly I'm not sure, as of now and I'm open to ideas. But I think what I may do is, the Blogger of the month will receive administrative powers for the following month. But if you've got a better idea, I'm listening.

So yeah, I'm thinking this can be kind of a fun thing to do and a good way to get everyone making quality posts.

If you have any questions, comments, and/or/hopefully some ideas, please tell me now!

Keep up the good work guys, this blog is really doing good for it's first month!

Death Penalty Bad?

Here is a topic that until recently I didn't talk about. This is a short article but I think I bring up my points.

Do I agree with the death penalty? I agree in certain cercumstances. I think there should be certain crimes that can make you liable for the death penalty. Murder would be an example. It would not apply to crimes such as robbery. I would also agree if someone did a crime a certain amount of times somone could get the death penalty. I wouldn't want however minors to get the death penalty because, and I am not saying that it is thier fault, the parents would be legally responsible.

That is what I think the death penalty should be like.

Heres a good example of UNPATRIOTIC

"Our country is founded on a sham: our forefathers were slave-owning rich guys who wanted it thier way. So when I see an American Flag, I go 'oh my god, your insulting me'. That you can have a gay parade on Christopher street in New York, with gay naked men and women on a float cheering,'were here, were queer!'--THATS what makes my heart swell. Not the flag, but a gay naked man or woman burning the flag. I get choked up with pride"

-Janeane Garofalo

Where will this kind of taking get us? And who talks like this?

GOOD NEWS!

This came to me by way of an e-mail sent to me by another daughter of mine (adult) who lives in Austin. I wanted to share it with you. As it states at the bottom of this e-mail, all of these facts are verifiable on the Department of Defense website.

DID YOU KNOW THIS?

- Did you know that 47 countries have re-established their embassies in Iraq?
- Did you know that the Iraqi government employs 1.2million Iraqi people?

Why do you care?

I was flicking through channels on my television today and I go by the oh so wonderful station E!. After 5 seconds I learned that Paris Hilton has a new pet. Oh wow, that is just so cool *sarcasm intended*. So I've been thinking, why does the majority of America care? Why?

Why do you care about these so called "celebrities"? Why do you care about who's dating who in a group of people you'll never meet? Why do you care about what they did on their weekend? Why do you care about what they're good at?

I'll be honest with you right now, I hate celebrities. They're all greedy brats who think just because they were the loud mouths in 6th grade and got free money because of it they are more important than you. Come on. I'm more talented than some of these people.

Do people really think this is news? Like it's something they really need to know? Instead of watching the 5:00 news people will watch a documentary about some obscure hard rock band from the '70s. These people don't know what is going on in the world, all they can do is keep a log of what Brittany Spears wears everyday, and whenever she makes a new music video, that's their news. "did you see the new music video? I can't believe she wore that, I wonder what it is, I want one". Do they even know there's a war going on? Call me crazy but at times like this I think the news is just a tinny bit more important.

But if these people want to be brainwashed, that's fine with me, but these people are voting! They don't know what they're talking about. They only base their vote on what they look like. Kerry probably lost last election because of that horrid botox. Not that I wanted him to win, but I mean come on. They have no idea!

So I've come to my conclusion.

Our news stations need to take E!. And what I mean by that is make it entertaining, but in it's own way of course. We can have three hour long documentaries on people who matter; like presidents, on the news stations. Instead of the who's dating who game or the who's wearing what game, the news stations should have a who's lying to who, or who's doing what.

Now don't get me wrong, I don't want to dumb down the news stations, but we do need to have more people watching them than their beloved E!.

Politics can be fun! In fact I am more entertained taking in politics than hearing the who's dating who game on E!.

So, if you are one of those E! Watching zombies, please, please change the channel. Put it on something that matters. News stations. The History channel. The Discovery channel (when they're not doing that motorcycle crap). PBS for all I care, just put it on something that matters!

Borders, Borders, Borders! Part 2

(Note: Please read part one if you haven't already. Part 1 )

I've been talking about border issues for a while now and even I have forgotten about how the northern borders are being forgotten, and in more ways than you may think. If you have any idea how big the threat for terrorism is these days, then this information should make your head spin.

First lets go over some data.

The Canada border length is 3,987 miles long and is mostly made up of mountains prairies waterways and forests making it difficult for border patrol to catch illegals. In all of the 3,987 miles there is only 1,030 border patrol agents. Do the math and that's 3.8 miles per border agent. 3.8 miles of rough terrain mind you. Chances are, one agent would have a hard time patrolling just a quarter of a mile.

To put this all into perspective I will go over some data for the Mexico borders too.

The Mexico border is 1,951 miles of flat, high visibility land. In all of the 1,951 miles there are a total of 9,630 border patrol agents. Do the math and that's 0.2 miles per border patrol agent. About one eigth of a mile. And this 0.2 miles is all flat highly visible land.

This goes to show you the difference in security between the two borders but we still have some numbers to go over.

In a one month period of time there was 7,430 arrests on the Canada border, and 1200000 (1.2 million) arrests on the Mexico border. That means for every arrest in the Canadian border, there were 161 arrests in the Mexico border.

This could mean one of two things, either less people try to pass through the Canadian border, or less people get caught going through the Canadian border.

Judging by the numbers, the logical answer would be the latter because it is so much easier to get through the Canadian border than the Mexican. Although that is probably not true, the point is, is that it is so easy to get through the northern border.

Judging by the amount of border patrol agents and land they have to patrol there is about a 4% chance of getting caught going through the Canadian border, and about a 50% chance of getting caught going through the Mexican border. Just to put things into perspective for you, getting through the border really is that easy.

So if you were a terrorist, which border would you rather try to sneak through?

Clarification

It appears that there has been a misunderstanding of sorts regarding a comment I made in the comments section of a previous post. The comment was, "We cannot get along as long as the lunatic left is driving the Democratic Party". I stand firmly behind that comment and now I am going to explain why.

First, I am not declaring all liberals to be lunatics. The degree of lunacy is directly proportional to the level of liberalism that one possesses. There are some perfectly sane, rational liberals out there who just see things different than I do. Many of my friends are exactly this type. It's not as though they are foaming-at-the-mouth moonbats, they just refuse to give up on socialism. Fair enough. Even though it seems futile to me, they have every right to continue holding to those old socialist beliefs.

So, what do I mean by "lunatic left"? Quite simply, I mean those certain individuals who inhabit the far left end of the political spectrum. Communists, fascists and those slightly to the right of them are the ones I am referring to. Good examples are people like Cindy Sheehan, Ward Churchill, Michael Moore and George Soros. These individuals and those who think like them, are the driving force behind the Democratic Party. You can find them on Democratic Underground, The Daily Koz and other bastions of liberalism. They populate the ACLU, the NAACP, the ABA and the vast majority of the mainstream media. Your college professors, union leaders and people like Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson are great examples as well.

In Part II of Socialism, USA, I explored who these people are and how it came to be that they inhabit these positions. If you haven't already done so, I suggest you take a few minutes and browse through it. It will provide you with the background for many of the comments that I make. That post summed up many of my thoughts and observations on the left so understanding it will give you a way to understand my thinking process.

These "lunatic leftists" are the money people, the people who direct the funding to the candidates that support their views most accurately. Politicians who cross them risk losing their funding when they seek out a challenger. I forget who it was, but during the 2004 Democratic National Convention, one leading Democrat said something to the effect of "Feminists, gays and athiests, shut up! Just shut up! You'll get everything you want after we win, just shut up for now!". This says a great deal. They (the hardcore left) cannot win by being who they are. They feel the need to camoflage their views and ideas (or lack thereof) in order to win elections. They know that they can never get their ideas passed at the ballot box so they seek control of the SCOTUS in order to push their agenda through.

Anyone who believes that the far left is not in control of the Democratic Party, I give you the example of Joe Lieberman. In 2004, Joe Lieberman was the only moderate candidate that the Democrats offered and he was the first to go. Lieberman had all the qualities to win. He goes to synagogue, he has a solid marriage, stands for real family values and has the respect of Democrats and Republicans both. The movers and shakers on the left got together and took him out right away. For months, the golden boy of the Democratic Party was Howard Dean who is pretty far to the left. I know he has a good standing with the NRA but when you run for election in a small, conservative state, you do what you have to do to stay in power. I don't believe for a minute those "pro-gun" convictions would stick around if he were to win the presidency.

As long as such extreme forces guide one of our political parties, no compromises can be made. This is exactly why I stand by my statement. As long as the lunatic left is in control of the Democratic Party, we will never get along.
